San Felipe. I made my first trip here in 1948 with my dad and there was nothing here but small fishing village

This is the strip at Bahia Gonzaga south of San Felipe. The old strip is on the beach; it
disappears when the tide comes in. The new runway just off the wing tip.

Gonzaga Bay has a 2000 feet runway, but get out early before the tide comes in

On final at Cala San Francisquito,  a small settlement, where the sharks are harvested, filleted, salted down and shipped. Debbie, the "Shark Lady" lives at the other end of the strip.

Santa Rosalia ----This was one of the first V.O.Rs put in Baja.

Runway at Punta Chivato. Beatiful beach and shelling area. The original buildings here were much more moderns that any other fishing resorts build ten to fifteen years later. This property has been completely remodeled since 1999

If you look close you will see 3 dirt strips which take Mulege back 50 years.
The short strip across the river at Club Aero Mulege is very light. Don Johnson was involved in the development of this resort before he went across the river and built Serenidad Hotel which he now owns

A fresh water river empties into the sea at Mulege. It is the only tropical spot in all of Baja growing all sorts of melon, dates, papaya, mangos and other tropical fruit. Its is known for its 300 year old mission and territorial prison. There are many rements left from days when it was occupied bythe chinese

City of Loretto and airport. World famous for its fishing qualities and Ed Tavor's "Flying Sportsman Lodge." . The favored resort now is 'The Oasis." The oldest mission in Baja is located here and is still used as a place of worship. Probably the earliest settlement in the Baja.

This is Las Cruces strip, just south of Playa Tecolote and north of Puma Arena De la Ventana---This is where Bing Crosby and Dezi Arniz had family homes. One way in strip but a good one up hill. They say it is a private club but they will take good care of you if you drop by and say Hello.

Punto Pescadero East Cape, this is a good strip, paved and good hotel.

This Las Palmas Hotel on the east cape of Baja. They closed this strip
this past year and I wanted to cry when it happened. We had so many great fishing
trips to this Hotel in the past 30 years. It will be missed by us, the old Baja pilots

Front view of Las Palmas Hotel. If you look very close you will see a white
beach house and white hanger of my close friends,  Jack and Shirley Bowman.
They had the only taxi in hanger in all of Baja. It was a real blow when they closed the
strip.

This will go just below Las Palmas Hotel--Rancho Buena Vista. Is is the oldest
hotel on the east cape and by far the most famous in the early years. As you
can see from my fish pictures we caught a lot of them in this area

Cabo in 1975, If I could have known what was going to happen, I would not be flying a 22 year old Piper Aztec.

Cabo 1982

This is the same bay in 1997
